Physical Therapy

¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ physical therapists create an individualized program of gentle exercise and stretching to improve shoulder mobility. These can include exercises in which you slowly move your arms up and down or out to the side and back.

The exercises may include the use of a light weight or an exercise band. Our experts can teach you how to do these exercises at home.

Each physical therapy treatment typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Orthopedic Center. Your doctor determines how long therapy is needed.

Integrative Therapies

Specialists at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ offer integrative and wellness services designed to complement physical therapy and medication. These treatments, which include acupuncture, massage, and meditation, can help relieve pain and improve your overall sense of wellbeing.

Your ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ doctor may recommend transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, or TENS, to relieve pain. In TENS, electrodes are attached to pressure points on or near the shoulder, which then deliver low-voltage electrical impulses that travel along nerve fibers, leading to pain relief in some people.
