Before I became a doctor, I worked at the Museum of Modern Art. Over time, I became interested in women’s health and decided to become an obstetrician–gynecologist. I wanted to empower patients to make decisions about their healthcare.

I have expertise in perimenopause and menopause, and I am interested in the role menopause plays in the development of chronic diseases and long-term health. As co-director at the Center for Midlife Health and Menopause, I educate patients about symptoms and explain what is normal and what is not. In addition, I collaborate with patients to explore medical therapies and lifestyle changes that help improve symptoms. I help people separate fact from fiction when it comes to tests and treatments for perimenopause and menopause.

I also manage gynecological symptoms, such as premenstrual syndrome and abnormal bleeding. I provide care after abnormal Pap and human papillomavirus (HPV) test results and for breast health concerns. In addition, I provide contraception counseling and place intrauterine devices.

In the operating room, the procedures I perform include hysteroscopy to remove and reduce fibroids. I also offer the Sonata procedure, which uses radiofrequency energy to shrink fibroids. These treatment options result in minimal downtime for patients.

Office procedures I perform include endometrial biopsy; colposcopy, which allows me to examine the cervix; and loop electrosurgical excision procedure, in which I remove precancerous cervical cells. I aim to make any office procedure as comfortable as possible.

I enjoy listening to my patients and working with them to create a treatment plan with which they are comfortable.
